South Carolina Army National Guard SSG Jerome Lemon, 42, of North Charleston, SC died on October 27, 2004.
Lemon was killed in Balad, Iraq when a vehicle borne improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle, only days after returning back from leave. He was assigned to Army National Guard’s 105 2nd Transportation Company, Kingstree, SC.
Lemon graduated from the patrol academy in 1990, and he served in civilian law enforcement, working for Marlboro and Darlington County Sheriffs office and city police departments in Cheraw and Hartsville.
