Wade Hampton III, Confederate cavalry general, went on to become one of the state’s most pivotal governors.  His equestrian statue dominates the state house grounds.  Why, though, does he also have a chapter devoted to him in a book about bear hunting? We’ll examine Wade’s life experiences, his accomplishments and his character.
