Program Brings World War I to Life

See Woodrow Wilson, General Pershing, a Navy airship pilot and more come to life on Saturday, November 14, during the SC Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum’s living history program, The Eleventh Hour: Great War Armistice Day Commemoration.

The program, which runs from 10:00-2:00, will feature several informative talks throughout the day by living historians, including Dr. Ed Beardsley portraying President Woodrow Wilson.  Other talks include impressions of General Pershing and Navy airship pilot Yeoman First Class James F. Griffin.  In addition to the talks, a variety of living historians will have period materials available for viewing.  A World War I tactical simulation game will also be featured during the day.  Access to all events is included with paid museum admission.

This is the final program to highlight the museum’s two exhibits on World War I, both of which close on December 6, 2009.  “Forgotten Stories: SC Fights the Great War” and “World War I in 3D” will both be available for viewing this day.

Schedule of Events:
10:00-2:00 - Exhibits open, historians available in atrium, simulation games ongoing
11:00 - General Pershing talk
12:00 - James Griffin talk
1:00 - Woodrow Wilson talk
